Due to continued freezing conditions. SE Water will be opening, tentatively, at 10:30 Thursday (tomorrow) morning. We have no plans on turning off water service for our district. Just the reduction of pressure, as it is now. It is imperative that you inspect your properties for leaks and close your Customer Service Valve until repairs have been made. This is happening because the demand for water has outpaced our production ability. We will resume normal operations as soon as this trend has ceased.

SE Water #2 can no longer maintain normal operating pressure. We will be lowering the pressure to keep the plant in operational status. We ask our customers to please conserve water and inspect their properties for leaks. Please close water if leaks are found. Thanks!

Southeast Waterworks is asking our customers to please inspect their properties for water leaks temperatures are rising and pipes are thawing out. Southeast Waterworks has not had a loss of power and we have not stopped distribution of water. If you are experiencing a loss or reduction of water pressure please inspect your property for leaks. We are experiencing a high demand for water at this time and need your help to continue normal operations. Thank you for you cooperation & patience! Stay safe!

These are the final hours to prepare your properties for this potentially historic weather event. Please insulate any exposed plumbing and cover crawl spaces to help insulate plumbing under homes. Close and drain water lines to any unoccupied properties or any unnecessary lines to sheds, water troughs or other structures. Please locate your customer service valve approximately 8 to 18 inches from the water meter so that you have the ability to turn off the water should it become necessary. Our staff may have difficulty getting to your property for emergency calls, so your access to this valve is very important. Southeast Waterworks has prepared our facility to give us the best chance of remaining operational during this winter storm. We do not have any plans to stop the distribution of water but there is a limit to the amount of water that we can produce and store. Please be mindful of your water usage during the next few days. Should circumstances force us to reduce or cease distribution of water you will be informed by a notification such as this one. Please keep calls to our office and staff to emergency situations. If you notice a reduction or loss of water pressure inspect your property for leaks. Frozen pipes can stop your water flow but we will give notice if Southeast Waterworks must reduce or stops service. Good luck, stay safe and let’s work together to successfully keep the water flowing.

A hard freeze weather event is expected for our area next week. Time is running out for preparing your properties to avoid or minimize damage that can occur during this type of extreme cold weather. Insulating exposed plumbing can greatly reduce the chance of frozen or bursting water lines. Old towels, blankets and rags can be used as an inexpensive option to accomplish this task. Covering the crawlspace on elevated homes can also greatly reduce your chance of frozen plumbing. Take time now to inspect any shut off valves you may have for ease of access and proper operation. This way “you” can turn off the water on your property and avoid further damage, or expensive repairs, should you have any problems. You should know where your customer service valve is and to make sure that it is easily accessible. These valves are usually 8 to 18 inches after the water meter and can get covered with grass and soil. Finding this valve now, before the freeze, will make things much easier on you.
We are preparing our facilities for this event and will do everything in our power to maintain normal operations during this time. Our office will be closed on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday of next week. We will have staff On-site and On-call during these times to monitor operations and respond to emergencies. Please understand that during these types of events our response time to customers can be greatly affected and calls are prioritized by the greatest need. Notifications, like this one, will be sent out should we need to inform our customers of any issues affecting our district. Should you lose water pressure first inspect your property for leaks. SE Water hopes that all our community stays warm and safe. Please remember to prepare for your pets during this time as well. Thanks in advance for your patience and cooperation!
